Q.What is a custom system and how do you build it? A. A custom system is a database that is tailored to fit your exact needs. Generally, we start with your standard forms, the ones most commonly used. We then establish a series of 'scenarios', which are descriptions on how you currently perform common tasks. Then, we develop a user interface that makes it very easy for your people to perform these tasks. Finally, we make sure you can print out, or view over the network your standard forms that you need to operate your company.

Q.Do I need to change the way my business operates? A. No. We make sure that the system is an advanced tool. It will help you perform routine tasks very quickly and efficiently. We eliminate double entry of data to make things easy...that's it.

Q.Is custom software development expensive? A. It depends upon what you want to do. Systems vary from as little as $500.00, all the way up to thousands of dollars. The number of users tends to dictate how much a system will cost. Typically, custom software is more expensive that 'off the shelf' software, however, custom software is built specifically for you and your business.

Q.Once I buy a system, do I have to continually pay you? A. No. Our systems are licensed to you as 'complete'. Once you have a working system, you never need to pay us again. The only time you will pay us more money, is if you want the system to do more for you.

Q.So, for every little upgrade or change, I have to hire you again? A. No. Our platform selection will be based upon the knowledge of you and/or your people. Ideally, we want you to be able to make simple changes, upgrade forms, and that type of thing yourself. Some complex changes might need to be done by Webwyz.

Q.How much do you charge for custom software development? A. Our standard charge out rate is $70USD per hour, or $90CAN per hour.

Q.What is your development process? A.We start with a design based on your initial needs. We then break the entire design up into logical 'chunks' or 'iterations', then build a 'prototype'. Each iteration is given a deadline date, and the minimum functionality required. We then build on an 'iteration by iteration' basis. At the end of each iteration, is a complete set of functionality, ready for use.

Q.Can I or my employees get access to the software from home? A. Yes. Nearly all of our systems built are fully network aware. We build them so that people can work from home, or on the road.
